Linda Jeanne Mizell, 82, of Wallingford, loving wife of James R. Mizell, passed away on December 31, 2021 at Masonicare Wallingford. She was born in Norwalk on December 26, 1939, a daughter of the late Robert Bruce Campbell, Sr. and Dorothy Agnes Schley. Linda is survived by her son, A. William Caporizzo (Carol) of Boston, MA, daughters; Karen Caporizzo of Meriden, and Susan Coleman (Robert) of South Carolina, grandchildren; Amy Aikin (Scott), Sara Bundzinski (David), Jeffrey Coleman, Lauren Williams (Keymani), Lisa Norman (Travis), Olivia Caporizzo, and 9 great-grandchildren, siblings; Myrna Spencer (Barry), Wilfred Campbell (Janet), Ronald Campbell (Yoon), Barry Campbell, Susan Campbell Emond (Don), Colin Campbell (Kim), Sheri Faust (Tim), and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by her brother Robert Campbell, Jr. Linda graduated from Stamford High School and attended Pace University in New York. She worked for several businesses as an accountant, in CT, NY, and CA, before moving to Texas. In 2001, she started a restaurant accounting company (RHA) with a colleague, which she greatly enjoyed. She relocated to Meriden, Connecticut in 2009 to be closer to family, and continued to work remotely for her company, RHA, retiring in 2020. Linda was very active in the Pleasant Valley Methodist church in Texas, which she referred to as a “little country church.” She loved her church in Meriden and was the treasurer of the United Methodist Women. She shared her generous heart with members of the congregation. Linda enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, playing dominoes and bingo. She loved watching movies, especially old Shirley Temple movies and love stories.
Friends are invited to visit with Linda’s family on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in First United Methodist Church, 159 E. Main St., Meriden. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Masks and social distancing policies will be observed. Memorial contributions in Linda’s name may be made to First United Methodist Church, 159 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450.
