Meriden- Lois Ester Wusterbarth, 103, died on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Bradley Home for the Aged. She was born in Meriden on October 3, 1910 to the late John and Pauline (Kosischke) Wusterbarth. Lois worked for the City of Meriden tax department but later retired from the union of New Departure. Lois had many interestes. She competed in senior swimming events, was past president of the Humane Society and past president of St. John Lutheran fellowship society as well as was a life long member of St. John Lutheran Church in Meriden. She especially enjoyed traveling, the beach, dancing and family gatherings. Lois is survived by her dear nephew, Roy Hartmann and great nieces and nephews; Jeff and Scott Hartmann, Allison Gilmore, Donna Finley and Laura Muenchow. She was predeceased by her siblings, Norman and Elmer Wusterbarth, Ruth Lynes and her other special nephew, David Wusterbarth. On behalf of the family, Patricia Wusterbarth would like to thank the entire staff at the Bradley Home for the excellent care and love given to Lois during her fourteen years of residency. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 11am at St. John Lutheran Church, 420 Paddock Ave., Meriden. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Meriden. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10-11am, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations in Lois's memory may be made to the Bradley Home for the Aged, 320 Colony St., Meriden, CT 06451. The Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden has been entrusted with the arrangements.
