CROSBY, LOIS S. Lois Sherry Crosby, 84, wife of the late Edwin F. Crosby, Jr. of Cannon St., Hamden passed away in St. Raphael Hospital Friday, Sept. 14, 2001 after a brief illness. She was born in New Haven, Nov. 20, 1916, a daughter of the late Benjamin L. and Gladys DeForest Sherry and had lived in Hamden all of her life. Mrs. Crosby was employed by the South Central CT Chapter of the American Red Cross as Blood Services Director for 20 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of Grace & St. Peter's Episcopal Church and had been treasurer, served on the Altar Guild and the E.C.W., she was a life member of Alice Chapter #76 O.E.S. and a Charter Advisory Board Member of Evergreen Assembly #44 I.O.R.G. She is survived by four daughters; Diane C. Cavallaro of Prospect, Laurie Slater of Guilford, Cynthia C. Turner of Hamden and Phyllis ''Fe'' Wlotzko of Darnestown, MD, 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Marian Deming, Vera Wickline and a brother Benjamin Arnold Sherry. Funeral service will be held in Grace & St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Sunday, Sept. 16 at 2 PM. Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Sunday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., service by Alice Chapter # 76 O.E.S. Sunday at 1PM. Burial in Centerville Cemetery will be private. Memorial contributions may be sent to Grace & St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 2927 Dixwell Ave., Hamden CT 06518 or to the American Red Cross, 703 Whitney Ave., New Haven, CT 06511.
