Lori K. Walasewicz, 57, of Southington, went home to be with our Lord on June 3, 2022 in Hartford Hospital surrounded by loving family, after a very courageous battle with cancer. Lori was born on February 18, 1965, the loving daughter of Kathleen (Kelly) Walasewicz and the late Thomas J. Walasewicz. Besides her mother Kathleen, Lori is survived by her son, Bryan Walasewicz, brothers, Thomas and Paul Walasewicz, long-time partner Frank Vingris, nephews, Joseph and Jacob Walasewicz, nieces Megan and Lucy Walasewicz, her Aunt Lorraine Williams, Aunt Francine and Uncle Bob O’Brien, and many loving Cousins.
Lori was as tough as they come, courageously withstanding the many life challenges thrown her way. She maintained a positive attitude throughout her illness and showed more concern for others than herself. She had a fun-loving spirit and personality. She loved to laugh, and that laugh was so very contagious. At family gatherings Lori’s personality brightened the room. In no time, Lori would have us all laughing, usually at one of our own expenses. Lori did not like to be the center of attention, but that personality sure made her the center of attention amongst family and friends. Lori also took great pride in being the “cool & funny” Aunt and was always teasing her nieces and nephews. She also loved to cook and try out new recipes, and her favorite times were cooking and baking with her nieces Megan & Lucy. Lori had a love for flowers & gardening and the beauty of nature, which will continue to provide us with loving reminders of Lori with every bloom. We love you Lori.
Lori was also proud member of the Polish Falcons in Southington. She had so many great memories from her times at the club. She especially loved to tell everyone about the club’s Fashion Show. Thank you to the Falcons for all the support the club provided Lori during her fight with cancer.
To Lori’s friends, please raise a glass of your favorite spirit in her honor with a nod to the Heavens and a fond remembrance (Yes, Lori will be watching).
A Memorial Mass celebrating Lori’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 14th at 11:00am in Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St., Plantsville, CT 06479. Interment will be privately held at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate a donation in Lori’s memory be made to The Sisters’ Project, P.O. Box 1643, Wallingford, CT 06492 or by going to www.thesistersproject.org.
Our condolences to Lori’s family and friends. We always remember her smile and her spirit.
