  1. Lorraine and my mother, Marie Mahoney, were best friends since high school. Lorraine has been in my life my entire life. My brothers, sister and I grew up calling her Auntie Rainey. Lorraine and my mom always made sure that as kids, we had plenty of fun…they took us everywhere. Lorraine loved her family..they were the most important to her…her daughter Patty, her son Kevin, her grandchildren and all of her extended family. She loved her friends and she loved animals. As far back as I can remember, Lorraine always had a cat…sometimes 5 at a time. Her current feline friend, Muffin, was rescued by Lorraine several years ago..she was the cat no one else wanted, but Lorraine saw something in her and they became instant best friends. She even loved the 3 stray cats that would line up on her fence waiting for their dinner every night. Lorraine and I always celebrated our mutual birthday..January 29th, and she always made sure I got a tin of her Christmas cookies that I loved…sometimes I wouldn’t see her until January or February, but she saved those cookies for me! I will miss her and her .joie de vivre.!
