Loueva F. Pflueger-Pierson, age 98, of Cheshire passed away at her residence on November 13, 2024. Born in Wayne, Nebraska on August 16, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Frank Pflueger and Louise (Biermann) Pflueger. Loueva was predeceased by her husband, George W. Pierson, Professor and Chairman of the History Department at Yale University; her stepdaughter, Nora Pierson; and her sisters, Aletha Pflueger and Leatrice Bennett. She is survived by her grandson, Ross Palmer of New Zealand; Pierson family members Karen, Eliza, Kate, and Bella; Friend family members Tad, Pier, and Timmy; and stepdaughter, Trisha Pierson. After moving from Wayne, Nebraska as a young woman, she resided in New Haven for many years. Loueva was an Administrative Assistant in the Yale University History Department.

I was a graduate student in history at Yale in the 1970s and remember as a stately and kind person, ever helpful. I recall her marriage to George Pierson and thought the two of them went together well although I did not meet them as a couple. George and his first wife were friends of my parents. Her memory is a blessing.
