Louis F. Dolceacqua, Sr., age 83, of Hamden, passed away March 21, 2015. Louis was born in New Haven on August 21, 1931 a son of the late Louis A. & Raffella Bonito Dolceacqua. Louis is survived by his wife, Alison Finver Dolceacqua; daughter Genny (Juan) Curbelo of Devon; sons Michael (Patricia) Dolceacqua of Milford & Patrick (Deborah) Dolceacqua of New Haven; grandchildren Michael Jr., Sonia, Anthony, Jacqueline, Matthew & Louis III; great-grandchildren Nicolette & Trey; daughter-in-law Maria Dolceacqua of East Haven and his brother Frank (Vickie) Dolceacqua of Hamden and a sister-in-law Julie Dolceacqua. He was predeceased by his son, Louis F. Dolceacqua, Jr; daughter Patricia Dolceacqua; grandson Jonathan & his brother John. Louis was a US Navy Korean War Veteran. He was a retired operating engineer for US Motors Company and was formerly employed by Perrelli Armstrong Tire Company. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, camping, crabbing and wood working. Friends may visit with his family at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Sunday, March 29th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and may attend his funeral from the funeral home on Monday at 9:00 AM followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Church, 397 Ferry St., New Haven. Burial with Military Honors will take place in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.
