In West Haven, Aug. 31, 2005, Louis Voigt, Sr., 67, of West Haven, husband of the late Anna Iannotti Voigt. Father of Louis Voigt of Newington, Eric Voigt of West Haven, Sandra LaGrave of Prospect, and Eugene Pfeiffer of Northford, brother of Philip Voigt, Bernice Montgomery and Lenore Voigt, nephew of Lucy Bodie and Leonora Lewis, grandfather of Louis Voigt, Jr., Marc Carrion, Ceferino Carrion, Christopher Carrion, Olivia Pfeiffer, and Christopher Girard. Predeceased by brothers Sgt. Major Leonard Voigt and Francis Voigt. Born June 14, 1938 a son of the late Leonard B. and Ethel Burgess Voigt. Lou retired from the United Illuminating Co. in 1994 after 38 years of service as a Senior Accountant/Financial Analyst. Lou served the community on many boards, including the Industrial Recreational Council, Federation of Utility Employees, W.H. Child Development Center, W.H. City Council, W.H. Board of Finance, United Illuminating Federal Credit Union, New Haven Chapter of Credit Unions, and CT Board of Credit Unions. He was a lifetime member of the Polish-American Club and former member of the W.H. Elks Club and the W.H. Knights of Columbus. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave, West Haven, Tues., Sept. 6 at 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 208 Columbus Ave., New Haven. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 p.m. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
