Louis R. Lynn, age 71, of West Haven, beloved husband of Sylvia Klynduck Lynn, entered through the gates of Heaven on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at the Masonic Home in Wallingford. Louis was born to Louis and Jeannette Brown Lynn on May 29, 1939. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. During his short life, Louis had touched many lives. He was a great family man, hard worker, avid horseman and rodeo participant. He loved horses and the rodeo, but most of all he loved his wife, children and grandchildren. His motto was to always do your best and never give up. This was the way he lived his life every day. Before his retirement in 2000, Louis was employed by Waste Management. Prior to that, he worked for Armstrong Tire and was an operations manager at Latella Carting for over 30 years. He loved to travel with his family. Louis was a member of the US Marine Corps. and Marine Corps. Reserves from 1960 -1966. Louis will be sadly missed by his wife of 49 1/2 years, Sylvia, and their children: Richard and his wife Mary of East Haven, Sherri Higgins and her husband John of Stratford, Paul and his wife Trish of North Branford, Stephanie Bradley and her husband Thomas of Clinton and Stephen and his wife Stacey of East Haven. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren: Jonathan Lynn, Chelsea Germanese, Dylan Lynn, Elizabeth Bradley, Nicholas Bradley, Paul Lynn, Jr., Dillon Higgins, Joseph Bradley, Louis Bradley, Bryan Higgins, Karlee Lynn and Jason Lynn. He is also survived by his sisters Helen Gillan and her husband James of South Carolina and Alice Holford and her husband Ray of Minnesota. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Jeannette and Louis Lynn, brother Leonard Schoen, and mother and father-in-law Celia and Nicholas Klynduck. The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the nursing staff at the Masonic Home in Wallingford, especially his niece, Melinda Schoen, his companion Linda Grasso and his aides Jackie and Holly for their compassionate care. Friends and family may call on Thursday, November 18, 2010 from 4-8 PM at BEECHER & BENNETT-TAYLOR, 410 Campbell Ave., West Haven, Funeral Service at 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Louis' name can be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492 or to the American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Ste. 800, Washington, DC 20004.
