Louis "Slim" Piscitelle, 92, husband of the late Irene Clish Piscitelle, of Shepard Ave., Hamden passed away Tuesday Sept. 11, 2007 in the Harborside Healthcare Arden House, supported by loving family members. He was born in New Haven Nov. 28, 1914 a son of the late Pasquale and Maria Mennone Piscitelle. He was owner of "Slim's Auto Body" of East Ferry St. New Haven for 50 years before retirement in 1997, and also the "Diamond S" modified race car. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling. Mr. Piscitelle is survived by his sons, Andy Piscitelle and his wife Hinda, and Pasquale Piscitelle, and his wife Roberta, of Hamden, his grandchildren, Lauren Piscitelle of Hamden, Jill Piscitelle of NH, Pat Piscitelle, Jr. and his wife Cindi of No. Carolina, Louise Welsch of NH, Marie Esposito of West Haven. Great grandfather of Sandra, Julie, Ricky, Samantha, Theo, and Nicolas. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Rose Cacace and her husband Frank of East Haven, Michaelina Piscitelli of New Haven, a sister in law Gladys C Kyttle of FL., and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 sisters Carmel D'Amato, Clementine Giaquinto, and Antionette Santa Barbara Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Saturday morning Sept. 15 at 10:15. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated in the Church of the Ascension, Dunbar Hill Rd., Hamden at 11 a.m. Friends may call Friday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be private. Contributions in his memory may be sent to the Clelian Center, 261 Benham St., Hamden, CT 06517 or to the Harborside Healthcare Arden House Recreation Fund, 850 Mix Ave., Hamden, CT 06518.

  1. Hearing of the passing of Slimie has left a large emptiness in my heart. At age 14 I met him and we became good friends. Racing was a part of our lives together. His knowledge and teaching of everything was invaluable to me. I considered him to be like a second father to me. Our deepest and heartfelt sympathy to the family. Love, Ray and Elaine Pianka

  2. I can`t say how sorry I am to hear of the passing of Slimie I have mannie memorize of a man who was like a father to me. I learn a lot from him.He was a class act when we raced. Hope he is in race track heven. To the familey my dearest sincere sympathies
