Lyndell R. (Mead) Betzner, age 78, of Hamden, passed away at her home on July 21, 2018. She was the widow of Henry E. Betzner, Jr. Born in New Haven on November 22, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Thaddeus & Etta (Bennett) Mead. Lyndell is survived by her son, Henry E. 'Hank' Betzner, III (Lisa Pietrandrea) of Hamden; daughters, Heidi Richetelle of Hamden and Gretchen Ferri & her husband Marco of Hamden; grandchildren, Kyle Richetelle (Erin Wiswell), Jodie Richetelle, Lia Ferri, Sonia Ferri, and Mark Farat; and her sister in-law Barbara Luschenat (Karl) of Wallingford. Lyndell was a 1957 graduate of West Haven High School and a 1959 graduate of Lasell Jr. College. She was a Hamden resident for over 57 years, moving from West Haven. Lyndell was a self-employed typist for many years and a former writer years ago for the Hamden Chronicle. She was a member of the International Order of the Rainbow Girls and former President of the Hamden Jr. Women's Club. She was a supporter of Hamden Youth Hockey, Hamden Figure Skating Association, and Hamden Heronettes. She loved to spend time with her family and special friends visiting Vermont, Disney World, Cape Cod, and Martha's Vineyard. Lyndell was an avid fan of NY Yankees Baseball and UCONN Women's Basketball and always loved to go to Radio City Music Hall to see the Rockettes annually since 1944. Friends may attend her Graveside Service at 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 26th at Beaverdale Memorial Park, Section-O, 90 Pine Rock Ave, New Haven. All may also attend her Memorial Service later on Thursday at 5:30 PM at Christ Lutheran Church, 600 Shepard Ave, Hamden. If one desires, contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to a charity of your choice in Lyndell's memory. Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden are in care of arrangements.

  6. We had so much fun on the vineyard. She. Was always agreeabable to whatever I suggested. My memories go back to painting scenery for the heronnett,s shows…she was always kind and considerate. I am at the vineyard now and miss her so much. Annette dimassa
