Marceline F. Staffieri
Marceline “Marcie” Florence Staffieri, 85, of Hamden passed away peacefully on January 12, 2018 surrounded by her family. Born in Derby, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Peruzzini Tomassini. She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Dominic Staffieri. Marcie attended St. Mary’s School in Derby and graduated from Stone Academy with a secretary degree. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her beloved children, Cheryl Loscalzo of North Haven, Michael (Mary) of Cheshire, and Dominic of CA; grandsons, Steven Loscalzo and Gregory, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved sister, Mary Poeta. Marcie was a devout Catholic and member of St. Rita’s Church. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed making meals for her family. Marcie loved to read history books, biographies, and autobiographies. She appreciated museums, great classic movies, and walking miles around Hamden. She loved her flower garden and trips to New York City to visit popular landmarks. She had a flair for fashion and always looked lovely. Marcie was a kind, compassionate, patient person and a devoted wife and wonderful mother and grandmother. If anyone had a problem she gave moral support and the person felt relieved of the burden. Marcie was cheerful, optimistic, and lived her life with grace, generosity, and dignity until the end. She will be deeply missed by her family. Some of her most joyous moments were times spent with her grandsons, whom she loved dearly. Friends are invited to visit with her family at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Thursday, January 18th from 9:30 to 10:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in St. Rita’s Church. After Mass her interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven, CT.

Very sorry to hear of your loss of your Mother.
Marcie and Dominic are the best neighbors one could ask for. I will miss her, and be there for Dominic.
Cheryl, Our deepest condolences in hearing of the passing of our mother. Knowing you, and your compassionate and caring soul, I have a good idea of your Mom. What a beautiful picture of her (I see your sense of style!) , and, wonderful tribute to her life. May she rest in peace and you find comfort in having such a great Mom!
