Cromwell - Marcella Harlan Boynton Melmer, 75 formerly of Timberhill Rd. passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Wethersfield Heathcare Center. She was born December 18, 1930 in Meriden a daughter of the late Paull and Helen (Harlan) Boynton. Marcella was the granddaughter of Arthur Boynton who owned and operated Bessie-Boynton's Men's Clothing Store on Colony St. in Meriden during the 1960's. Until her retirement she worked in the Tax Assistant's office in Cromwell Town Hall. Marcella is survived by a daughter, Cynthia J. Melmer of Vernon, a son, Paul E. Melmer of Vernon, two grandchildren, Thomas and Sarah Ellenberg of Vernon and one sister, Lila Bentley of Southbury, Ct. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 10, 2006 at the Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home. 48 Cook Ave., Meriden with a service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Contributions in Mrs. Melmer's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, Breast Cancer Fund, 538 Preston Ave., P.O.Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06450.
