Margaret Coyle
Margaret Hogan Coyle, formerly of Elim Park, Cheshire, passed away peacefully in the presence of family on March 23, 2016. She was sadly predeceased 50 years ago by her loving husband, Robert Coyle. They met and married at Fort Meade, Maryland and lived on Collett St., Hamden. Margaret was born in Newark, Delaware to the late Henry and Emily Scarborough Hogan on May 28, 1917. After a scholarship to the University of Delaware, she did her post graduate work at Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia. Margaret faithfully served our country as a Captain in the Army during WWII. Later she was Director of the school lunch program in the Naugatuck Valley School District. She was also a longtime member and a Eucharistic Minister of St. Rita's Church in Hamden. She leaves her children; Mary Marchetti (Jim) of Washington DC, Robert F. Coyle (Valerie) of Framingham, MA, Christine Coyle of Glenn Dale, MD, Margaret Nowakowski (Stephen) of Southington, David Coyle of Stafford Springs, and Paul Coyle (Debra) of Southington. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brother William Hogan. Friends are invited to visit with her family on Monday March 28 from 9:30-10:30am at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave. Hamden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am in St. Rita Church. Burial to follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Franciscan Home & Hospice Care, 267 Finch Ave. Meriden, CT 06451.
