Maria L. (Cofrancesco) Stygles, 81, of Hamden passed away peacefully on January 27, 2021 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late James J. Stygles, Jr. Maria was born in New Haven on October 8, 1939, daughter of the late Michael and Lillian (Busher) Cofrancesco. She is survived by her siblings Nicholas Cofrancesco, of New Haven, Irene Monroy and her husband Louis, of CA, and Donald Cofrancesco and his wife Dawn, of FL; along with many nieces, nephews, and good friends. Maria was predeceased by her brothers Robert and George Cofrancesco.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Maria’s family on Sunday, January 31st from 3:00 to 5:00PM at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Her funeral will take place from the funeral home on Monday, February 1st at 9:30AM with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Maria’s life at 10:00AM at Divine Mercy Parish-St. Rita Church, Hamden. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Memorial donations in Maria’s name may be made to the Emanuel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 280 Humphrey St., New Haven, CT 06511.
