Maria R. D'Angelo
Maria R. D'Angelo, 83, of West Haven, wife of the late Giuseppe D'Angelo, passed away on April 20, 2015 at CT Hospice. Born in Alife (CE), Italy on May 7, 1931 to the late Antonio and Concetta Vanora Macchiarelli. Maria leaves her daughters, Angela Patrizi & her husband Franco of Milford and Giovanna D'Angelo of New Haven; grandchildren, Sabrina Onorato of West Haven, Erica Martinez & her husband Danny of Meriden, Emilio and Angelo Patrizi of Milford; great-grandchildren, Matteo & Chloe Martinez. Predeceased by her sisters, Angelina Marzullo & Luigina Macchiarelli; brothers, Pietro, Giuseppe, & Sisto Macchiarelli. Maria and her husband came to the United States in 1966 with their daughters and have been in West Haven ever since. She was employed by Strouse Adler as an inspector for over 18 years. On weekends she looked forward to spending time at her daughter and son-in-laws pizza restaurant helping with prep where she shared her love of cooking and enjoyed mingling with the customers. Maria enjoyed the live music at Savin Rock and spending time with family and friends. She lived for her grandchildren and great-children and spent as much time with them as possible. Her family will always remember her as a lively and loving mother and Nonnie. Friends are invited to visit with her family on Thursday, April 23rd from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT- TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave., West Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated in St. Lawrence Church, West Haven at 11:00 a.m. followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Ange, we’re so sorry for your loss. I know words can’t express the depth of it or honestly assuage the hurt, but just know that we’re all thinking of you and your family. I know it’s hard to accept, but she IS in a better place and her pain is gone. We have to take solace in that.
