Marie Eve Bortes

Marie Eve Bortes, 76, of 200 Oak St., West Haven passed away September 29, 2007 after a brief illness. She was born in Leogane, Haiti, Jan. 20, 1931 a daughter of the late Richelieu and Cleli Gustave Bortes and emigrated to the United States in 1997. She was a faithful member of the French Speaking Baptist Church. Marie is survived by a daughter, Adeline Bortes, of Haiti, 3 sons, Yves (Carol) of Haiti, Edwin (Giselle) Genece of North Haven, Evens (Monalisa) Genece of Hamden, 3 sisters, Clemence Joinville, Janine Bortes, Verdieu Bortes of Haiti, also survived by 8 grandchildren. Friends may call at the French Speaking Baptist Church, 324 Legion Ave., New Haven, Friday, Oct. 5 from 6 - 9 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday Oct. 6. at 9 a.m. in the Grace & St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 2927 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. Interment will follow in Centerville Cemetery. Flower donations should be sent to the funeral home Friday. Arrangements under the direction of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
