Marie L. DeVeglia, 82, formerly of 707 Mix Ave., Hamden, wife of the late John DeVeglia, passed away Nov. 7, 2011 in Masonicare, Wallingford after a brief illness. She enjoyed bingo, duckpin bowling and spending quality time with her grandchildren. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. She was born in New Haven, Nov. 25, 1928, daughter of the late Harry and Catherine Pope Falcigno and was a lifelong Hamden resident. Loving mother of Paul DeVeglia of North Haven, Karen DiCaprio and Cindy DeVeglia both of Hamden. Beloved grandmother of Ralph, Jennifer, Kimberly, Stephanie, Marisa, Lindsay and John-Paul. She was predeceased by her brothers Harry & Al Falcigno. We want to express our sincerest gratitude and thanks to Dr. Paul Monaco for his kindness and exceptional care of our Mom/Grandmother. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN, Saturday, Nov. 12 at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joan of Arc Church at 10 a.m. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Friends may visit with her family Saturday morning from 8-9:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America PO Box 418629, Boston, MA 02241-8629.
