Marie Santini

marie santini
Marie, Re, or Rere, as she was often referred to by the children in her life, was an accomplished woman. In her early adult years she taught first grade. Afterward, she entered the US Army and served her country for 11 years during the Vietnam War. When she returned to civilian life, she graduated from Quinnipiac College and worked for the federal government as an IRS Agent. Marie was also an accomplished singer, a self-taught natural. She was tough but compassionate, and more than generous to anyone in need. Her greatest loves were her country, the children in her life, and her partner of 35 years, Carol Heck. Marie was born in Scranton, PA on November 14, 1938 to the late Louis Santini and Lucille Berardi Santini Layton. She is survived by her brothers, Louis Santini and Nick Layton and his wife Eileen; her sister, Connie Sharpe, and several nieces and nephews. Services for Marie will be private.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I remember a time when she gave my daughter Rainy a ride on her motorized wheelchair, what a sight. I really thought they were gonna crash. My family and I wish you all the best during this extremely tough times. My name is Ricky Davis and just want to say that I am so sorry for your loss and hope for the best for all who were close to Marie.

  2. I remember Marie as very kind and generous person. I still have and cherish a set of Santa ornaments she had given to me(plus other things}. Every year I decorate the tree, I have the memory of Marie.I will always keep her with me in my heart. Marie Massicott {another Re Re}

  3. I loved “ReRe”, Marie Santini. And I love Carol Heck. But I’ve lost Carol’s number so cannot reach her in Arizona to tell her I’ve moved to Colorado Springs. My # is 203-627-7669 so maybe she can reach me through notifications from Beecher & Bennett that there’s a new note on here about ReRe, who was a wonderful person. Love you, ReRe and Carol
