  4. To Mrs. Brechlin’s Family, My son, Tom Shernow, was a student in Mrs.Brechlin’s 1st grade class (1966-7).I remember her with gratitude as the .perfect. teacher for young children. She was a warm, gentle, nuturing teacher.I was impressed that she recognized Tom and another classmate were proficient in reading and had them read in there own unit. Tom was pleased to learn I was writing this message. He noted that Mrs. Brechlin motivated the class to read. She had to have special qualities for me to remember her so vividly after 40 years. Sally Shernow
