MERIDEN - Martha B. Schnick, 82, of High Hill Road, died Monday, August 26, 2002, at MidState Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Clarence A. Schnick. She was most recently a resident of Masonic Geriatric Healthcare. Born in Waterbury on May 26, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Gustav and Olga Blank Breitenbach. She was a graduate of Grace New Haven School of Nursing and was employed at the Meriden VNA and later at Meriden-Wallingford Hospital from which she retired. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was on the Pastoral Care Team, also a member of the Order of Amaranth, Westwood Court #5 and the AARP. She is survived by two daughters, Evelyn ''Lynn'' Stanton and her husband, Edward of South Meriden and Janet Rae Peichert and dear friend, Roger Svensk of New Britain; two grandchildren, Heather Anne Lally of Wallingford and Michael P. Lally III and his wife, Laura of North Haven; a great-grandson, Dylan Michael Lally of North Haven; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Lally of Waterbury and Peggy Breitenbach of Wallingford and a brother-in-law, Arthur Schnick of Meriden. She was predeceased by a sister, Helen Breitenbach; three brothers, Gustav, Arthur and Robert Breitenbach and a nephew, David Breitenbach. The family would like to thank the staff of Central Connecticut Dialysis Center on Research Parkway in Meriden for the outstanding care over the years. Her funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, CT. The Rev. Perry L. Beaver will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. If desired, contributions in Mrs. Schnick's memory may be made to the Central Connecticut Dialysis Center, 377 Research Parkway, Meriden, CT 06450, or to the National Kidney Foundation, 920 Farmington Ave., West Hartford, CT 06107 or to a charity of one's choice.
