Mary Ann Ruede, 66, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2017 at the MidState Medical Center in Meriden. Mary Ann was born in Meriden on August 7, 1951, daughter of the late Robert H. and Adeline Michalski Ruede. She was a lifetime active member of St. John Lutheran Church where she spent many years as the president of the Women’s Guild. Mary Ann was a constant presence in the lives of all her family members. She had a sweet, caring personality and was an exceptional friend who was full of generosity and love. Mary Ann found the most joy and importance in her role as a beloved Aunt. She was known for baking and decorating birthday cakes for her family. Mary Ann will be deeply missed by her brothers David J. Ruede (Carol Layne) and Mark R. Ruede (Mary); and former sister-in-law Nancy Ruede. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews David Scott Ruede (Marcie Zarella), Rebecca Reilly (Michael), Mark Ruede Jr. (Hannah), Daniel Ruede (Kristen) and Olivia Nappe (Edward); and six great nieces and great nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Mary Ann’s funeral service on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 11:00AM at Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Meriden. Calling hours will take place in the funeral home on Thursday September 14 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorial donations in Mary Ann’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) at donate.lls.org. In Mary Ann’s memory, her family asks that relatives and friends donate blood to your local blood bank.

  7. My most heartfelt condolences to Mary Ann’s family. I worked with Mary Ann for the past 3 years. We took breaks together, went to Subway for lunches and helped each other during our work day. She was such a big part of my life, she was like a sister to me. Mary Ann had a heart of gold. She was so knowledgeable and always did more than what was asked of her. I used to joke with her to get her to laugh and watch her beautiful smile. I miss you dear friend. Heaven has gained an Angel.
