Mary Josephine Villano, age 88, of Hamden, formerly of Orange, passed away April 10, 2011 in St. Raphael Hospital. Mary was the widow of Anthony Villano. Born in New Haven on May 20, 1922, she was a daughter of the late John & Josephine Miliano Scialla. Mary is survived by her sons, Louis & his wife Barbara Villano of Gilroy, CA and Rev. Mark A. Villano of Manhattan Beach, CA; grandchildren Benjamin Anthony Villano & Anna Helene Villano of CA; sisters, Rose DeMaio of New Haven, Grace L'Manian of Hamden, Jennie McLean of Hamden and Frances Watts of Fountain Valley, CA and a brother Carmen Scialla of New Haven. Mary was predeceased by her brother Joseph Scialla. Friends may visit with her family at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 from 8:30 to 9:30 am and may attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Rita Church, 1620 Whitney Ave, Hamden. The Mass will be celebrated by her son, Rev. Mark Villano. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. Contributions in Mary's memory may be made to the Archdiocese of Hartford, Office of Radio and Television, 15 Peach Orchard Road, Prospect, CT 06712-1052.
