Mathew D. Taylor, Jr.
Bethany-Mathew Dwight Taylor, Jr., 61, husband of the late Charlotte Heyward Taylor of Bethany passed away June 24, 2005 in St. Raphael Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in New Haven, Feb. 4, 1944 a son of Rosa P. Taylor of New Haven and the late Matthew D. Taylor, Sr. Mr. Taylor was proprietor of the parking lot at 60 Wall St. New Haven for many years. He is survived by a daughter, Tracey A. Taylor of Waterbury, a son, Damon D. Taylor of Key West, FL, and 4 grandchildren, Guy & Brittany Gilmore, Andre & Damon Taylor. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Elizabeth Surface. He was predeceased by a sister, Laura S. Taylor. Funeral service Friday, July 1 at 10 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Burial in Milford Cemetery.

You have my DEEPEST sympathy! May you have many wonderful memories of Matt, I know I do. I work for the Superior Courthouse and knew Matt for approximately 28 years. Matt did a maticulous job in washing my car. I knew Matt before the Century Tower building was built, when his parking lot was next to the courthouse. He was so good to me when I was running late for work and I had to park my car in a hurry, he always found a spot for me. We always would have a nice conversation and he would always ask how I was doing. He will be DEEPLY MISSED!
