Melinda Pennyman Gonzalez, of Meriden, passed away on June 12, 2022 after a short illness. Born in Meriden on May 4, 1966 to Flaretta Felton Pennyman of Meriden and the late Eddie Pennyman, Sr., Melinda worked for Meriden Headstart and then Walmart before staying home to be a full-time mother and wife. Melinda was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter and grandmother who was dedicated to all those she loved.
Melinda will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Rafael “Ralph” Gonzalez; son, Nevin Lowe, Jr.; sisters, Lisa Shider, Bridget Pennyman, Faye Taylor, and Maryann Caldwell; brothers, Robert, Luether, Eddie Jr., Victor, Richard, Matthew, and Eddie Jr.; her grandchildren Legacei, Nevin, Ti’Niyah, Dasani, and Isaiah, cousins, nieces, nephews, and her beloved four-legged furry friends. Melinda was predeceased by her siblings, Celestine Pennyman Fluker and Dean Pennyman.
Friends are invited to visit with Melinda’s family on Wednesday, June 22nd from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT-FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave, Meriden followed by her Memorial Service at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private. Contributions in Melinda’s memory may be sent to the Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org, or MidState Medical Care Patient Fund at www.midstatemedical.org/giving/donate-now.
