Merle W. Harrington

Plantsville - Merle W. Harrington, 79, husband of the late Birdena (Sands) Harrington passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at MidState Medical Center. He was born November 16, 1929 in Blaine, Maine a son of the late Arthur and Rose (Bell) Harrington. When he retired, he was a cost estimator at Wallace Barnes, now Associated Spring Co. of Bristol. Merle is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Rhonda Harrington and John Nemeth of Plantsville, and Alyssa and William Hepp of Meriden, a sister, Alice Davis, a brother, Dale Harrington, four grandchildren, Tracey Orne, Jennifer Champagne, Kevin Sobol and Bethany St. Arnauld, seven great-grandchildren and two special great-aunts, Marguerite Wright and Gladys Henderson. He was predeceased by three brothers, Wendell, Kent and Ross Harrington. Funeral services were private. The Beecher and Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden is in charge of the arrangements.
