Meriden - Mildred Ester Meyer Zezeck, 83 of South Colony St., died Thursday, May 4, 2006 in the same house in which she was born. She was predeceased by her loving husband Harold; and sisters Rose Zimmer, Florene Page and Mary Spencer. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Marcia and John Curtis of Va. Beach, VA, Craig and Jane Zezeck of Morgantown, W.VA; Mark and Lynette Zezeck of Sandusky, OH and Connie and Dan McDermet of Indpls, IN. She leaves behind 6 cherished grandchildren: Jennifer Fettes, John Curtis Jr., Heather, Megan and Amber Zezeck, and Ashley Zezeck, and 3 great-grandchildren: Christopher and Caroline Fettes and Andrew Curtis and many nieces and nephews. Millie was a faithful 50 year plus member of Meridian Chapter No.8 Order of the Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron and then Secretary Emeritus for her 30 years of service in that office. She was a life-time member of First Congregational Church, where she worked as office secretary in the 1940's and for the past 40 years as Altar Flowers Coordinator. She and her husband were very active in Troop 6 BSA. Having been born June 16, 1922 she graduated with the class of 1940, Meriden High School and married her high school sweetheart on Sept. 30, 1944 in a double ring ceremony with his brother John and Margaret Zezeck. They were married for 48 years. Millie received much joy from sewing, calligraphy, UCONN basketball and METS baseball. The family gives special thanks to Tom and Kathie Page, John and Dianne Bafuma, Burt and Joye Tuttle, Dorothy Syphers and Maggie Howard for their loving care and concern for a special mother. A Memorial service will be held at First Congregational Church, 62 Colony St., Meriden on Monday, May 8, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to First Congregational Church, Zezeck Memorial Fund, 62 Colony St., Meriden, CT 06451. Beecher and Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden is in charge of arrangements.
