Nancy Henry Henrich, age 90, of Cheshire, died August 18, 2011. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she was born August 23, 1920, in Buffalo, NY, to the late George and Ina Dixon Henry. Nancy graduated from the Buffalo Seminary and attended Wheaton College. Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, she enlisted in the Navy and served as a lieutenant (jg) in Washington, DC. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper in Buffalo and Huntington, NY; her true essence was caregiver, always reaching out to help others with friendship, love, and compassion. She volunteered for HeadStart and the Huntington Freedom Center, and was an active member and volunteer at Westminster Church in Buffalo, NY; Old First Church in Huntington, NY; and Spring Glen United Church of Christ in Hamden, CT. Nancy is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Charles; son Charles of Ireland; daughter and son-in-law Amy and Theodore B. Lynn of Hamden; grandchildren Emily, Sam, and Julia; sister-in-law Mary H. Botsford; and many cherished nieces and nephews. The memorial service will be Saturday, October 22, 2011, at 2:00, at Spring Glen Church, 1825 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Arrangements are in care of Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Nancy's name to the Fresh Air Fund, 633 Third Ave, New York, NY 10017, https://web.freshair.org.
