Nancy R. Haeckel, of Salem, NY, formerly of Cheshire and the New Haven area, passed away on September 8, 2012 in Glen Falls, New York. Nancy was predeceased by her husbands William Connelly and Howard Haeckel. She is survived by her daughter Diane Yarish and her husband Ted, Sr of Salem, NY; grandchildren, Nancy Alberino, Debra Yarish, Pam Clark & her husband Andy, Ted Yarish, Jr and Cynthia Bournstein & her fiancé Glenn Hamm; 16 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren & several nieces and nephews. Nancy was also predeceased by her son Donald Haeckel and her granddaughter Lori Yarish. She moved to Salem, NY from Cheshire 9 years ago to live with her daughter & son in-law. She was a waitress most of her life working in many New Haven area restaurants such as Clark Dairy, D'Andres Restaurant, Cass's Restaurant & Crown High Deli. Nancy was an avid Red Sox fan and baking for her family was her passion, her enduring love and devotion was tasted in every delicious morsel. Her funeral will leave from BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden on Saturday, September 15th at 9:30 AM, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Ave, Hamden. Interment will take place in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Friends may also visit with her family at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
