Nathalie B. (Fenn) Sunday, 85, loving wife of the late William Sunday, passed away on October 17, 2022 at Skyview Center in Wallingford, CT. She was born in Meriden, CT on March 4, 1937, a daughter of the late Edward and Mabel Fenn Bedford. After graduating from Meriden High School, Mrs. Sunday worked for CT Bank & Trust and its successors, including Wells Fargo, from where she retired. She was a life-long member of First Congregational Church in Meriden.
Mrs. Sunday was a descendant of one of Meriden’s oldest families. She was born in the family home on Reservoir Avenue, owned at that time by her grandparents J. Alden and Emma Mielke Fenn. The Fenn family were early settlers in the area around Reservoir Avenue, operating a grist mill near West Main Street, using Sodom Brook for waterpower. In the 1800’s, the Fenns made friction matches, an innovation at the time, on the same site.
She is survived by her son Lawrence Shelton and his wife Pamela of TX, step-son Nicholas Sunday and his wife Mary Lou of CT, and grandchildren Matthew Shelton of NY, and Stacy-Lyn De La Hoz and her husband Luis of MD. Services will be privately held at a later date at the convenience of her family.
Love you Bama! You will be missed. I will certainly miss your famous Stepped On Beans too. Thank you for all the great memories ❤️
Thank you, Matt. You have your grandmother’s heart.
Matt, she spoke of you often, she loved you so much! And always enjoyed her time with you!
So sorry to hear of Nathale s passing. She was a good neighbor to me when I lived on Glen Hills Rd. Her late husband Bill was a hoot too. Thoughts and prayers with the family.
