November 26, 1928 ~ December 14, 2020

Born in: New York City, NY
Resided in: Woodbridge, CT

On Monday, December 14, 2020, Nora Mae Gallagher, loving mother and grandmother of five children and seven grandchildren, passed away peacefully at the age of 92.

Nora was born in November of 1928 in New York City, to Nora and James Barry. She worked at and attended NYU for several years. Later, she worked for the New York Telephone company and made many life long friends there. Nora married the love of her life, James (Jim) Gallagher, in November 1950 and was married for 55 years. They raised their five children in Flushing, NY where Nora was always active in the community and her Irish Catholic parish. She was involved in the rosary society and the bowling league at St. Mary’s. She was an activist in her community and was always standing up for what was right.

Nora was a pillar of strength for everyone in her life.  She always chose her words carefully and never for a second did she complain about anything. She’d take care of anyone who needed help and was always supportive and loving towards those around her. She cherished the time she spent with family and took pleasure in watching her 7 beautiful grandchildren grow up over the years.

Nora was pre-deceased by her son Joseph Gallagher and her husband James Gallagher. She is survived by her sons James (Jimmy) Gallagher, Stephen Gallagher (and wife Felina Rakowski-Gallagher), daughter, Grace Triolo (and husband Alan Triolo), and son, Michael Gallagher (and wife Jeanne Gallagher). Nora leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Marianna Triolo, Ryan Gallagher, Stephen Triolo, Kelly Triolo, Kathryn Gallagher, Samantha Gallagher, and Jack Gallagher.

“Don’t cry about me. I am where I am supposed to be. And it’s perfect.”
