Norma Rivolta Luppi, age 97, departed this life on October 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was the widow of the love of her life, Edward James Luppi, to whom she was married for 60 years. She is survived by her three children, Giannina Luppi of Hamden, CT, Edward J. Luppi, II and his wife Deborah Luppi of Goffstown, NH, and Christian R. Luppi of Hamden, CT; granddaughters, Christina Luppi (Jonathan Herre) of Prescott, AZ, Marissa Leary and her husband Bridger Leary of Auburn, NH, and Dana Leibrandt and her husband Sean Leibrandt of Goffstown, NH; and two great-grandchildren, Sutton and Cavan Leary of Auburn, NH. She is also survived by her sister, Elia R. Kopjanski of Hamden, CT, along with several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert Rivolta.
Norma was born in 1927, in New Haven, CT. The eldest child of Romano and Giannina Aimi Rivolta, she resided in Hamden, CT her entire life. She spoke her native Italian language fluently. She was a 1944 graduate of Hamden High School, then went on to obtain a Business Degree from Green Mountain College in Vermont in 1946. She then went to work for her father as the Business Manager at the Rivolta Construction Company. In 1968 she obtained her Real Estate License and went to work for the H. Pearce Company in North Haven, CT, serving all of New Haven County until her retirement in 2011. For many years, she was a top producer, achieving many accolades and awards, including “Realtor of the Year” for New Haven County. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Alice Chapter No. 76.
Among the things that she loved were traveling to Italy to visit her many relatives, traveling throughout Europe, listening to Italian Opera, gourmet cooking, entertaining in her home, especially during the holidays, for large family gatherings filled with love, gardening, watching the New England Patriots, and the UCONN Women’s Basketball team. She never missed a game.
The family also wishes to thank her caregiver for the last four years, Maureen Coppola, for the loving and extraordinary care of their mother.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit Norma’s family on Friday, October 25th from 8:30-11:00 a.m. in BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. A Funeral Service celebrating Norma’s life will begin at 11:00 in the funeral home, followed by burial in Centerville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan’s Purse at www.samaritanspurse.org for hurricane relief efforts.
