Olive Glowacki LeRoy

Olive G. LeRoy, 83, of Woodbridge, wife for 61 years to the late Stephen J. LeRoy, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at Hilltop Heath Center in Ansonia. She was born Sept. 8, 1920 in Baltimore, MD a daughter of the late William and Rose Glowacki. Olive graduated from Southern Connecticut Teachers College and then went on to receive her master's degree in Art from Columbia University. She then taught Art in the Woodbridge school system. As an active member of the Garden Club she founded the Woodbridge Community Gardens and the Woodbridge Civic Organization. She is survived by a daughter, Grace LeRoy. She was predeceased by a son, Stephen Frederick LeRoy and a brother, William Glowacki. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 14 at 2 p.m. at the First Church of Christ in Woodbridge with the Rev. Boyd Johnson officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Contributions in Olive's memory may be made to the First Church of Christ, 5 Meetinghouse Lane, Woodbridge,CT 06525.
