MERIDEN - Olive Louise Swatkins Weitzel, 93, formerly of 57 Forest Avenue, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at Coccomo Memorial Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Stephen Weitzel. Born in Meriden on Jan. 3, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and May Howard Swatkins. She had been employed at the Home Club. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church and had volunteered at All Saints Thrift Shop for many years. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Stephen Stabach of Wallingford; a brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Charlotte Swatkins of Wallingford; three grandchildren, Stephn Stabach of Colchester, Gregory Stabach of Medford, Oregon and Susan Vilardo and her husband, Gregory of Colchester; two great-grandchildren, Gregory Vilardo and Sarah Vilardo of Colchester; and an ''adopted'' daughter, June Kupfer of Meriden; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, at 11 a.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 201 West Main St., Meriden. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. If desired, contributions in Mrs. Weitzel's memory may be made to the Meriden Humane Society, 311 Murdock Ave., Meriden, CT 06450, or to a charity of one's choice.
