Hamden Patrick Robert Duffy, Sr. Patrick Robert Duffy, Sr. 89, loving husband of 65 years of Grace Amarante Duffy of Hamden passed away August 3, 2012 after a brief illness. Patrick was born in Waterbury, CT August 1, 1923 a son of the late Patrick J. and Goldie Marie Farmer Duffy and had resided in Hamden since 1952. He attended Officer Training School at Wittenberg College in Ohio and proudly served in the US Army Air Force during WW II as a Captain with the 348th Bombardment Squadron in Europe. Mr. Duffy then graduated from the University of Bridgeport in 1949 and was employed with the Connecticut Wholesale Drug Co. in Waterbury and the Ketchum & Co. Pharmaceuticals of NYC until his retirement in 1995. He was a founding member of the Church of the Ascension, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed college football, traveling, and lived a very rich life with his wonderful family and friends. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children and their spouses, Patrick R. (Suzanne) Duffy, Jr. MD of Cheshire, Michael A. Duffy of Denver, CO., Richard J. (Tina) Duffy, MD of Portsmouth, NH. Beloved grandfather of Patrick R. (Jennifer) Duffy, III MD of Cheshire, Kristen (Zachary) Casavant of Boston, MA., Meghan Duffy and fiancé Ryan Canning of NYC, and twins Shannon and Kaitlin Duffy of Cheshire. He is also survived by his great grandsons, Patrick R. Duffy IV and Shawn Duffy, six beloved nieces, and a cousin Al T. Farmer. Patrick was predeceased by a sister Patricia Bohan and a brother John Duffy. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT 2300 WHITNEY AVE HAMDEN Wednesday morning August 8, at 9:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Church of the Ascension, Dunbar Hill Rd, at 10 am. Friends may visit with his family on Tuesday from 4-8 pm. Interment with Military Honors in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be sent to the Fr. McGivney Center for Cancer Care, 659 George St. New Haven, CT 06511.   11. Duffy Family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I have such fond memories of your dad comming home from work and meeting us in the kitchen just after Mike, Dick and I returned from playing hoops in the back yard. He was a very good man!
