Pauline K. Chang

Branford-Pauline K. Chang passed away Tuesday January 30, 2001 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born on January 19, 1926 in Shanghai, China and lived in Szechuan Province before moving to Seoul, Korea. Her father and mother Kiusic and Soonai Kimm were prominent members of the Korean Independance Party opposing Japanese occupation. She graduated from Wellesley College and received her Ph.D in chemistry from the University of Michigan in 1955. She was a senior research associate in the Department of Pharmacology at Yale School of medicine, before retiring at age 62. She is survived by her husband, Sung-Un Chang of Branford, CT, a daughter Suknan Sylvia Chang and her husband Robert W. Drane of Oakland, CA, a son Keunsuk Paul Chang and his wife Rini Georgekutty and their daughter Sophia, of North Kingston RI and her brother Jinsei Benjamin Kimm of San Antonio, TX. A private service will be held on February 2, 2001 at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave Hamden. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
