Meriden - Pedro Cardona, 73, of 300 Cook Ave., loving husband of 51 years to Christina Ruiz Cardona passed away Sat., Feb. 14, 2004 at MidState Medical Center. He was born in Aguada, Puerto Rico, July 30, 1930, a son of the late Pedro and Rosa Vazquez Cardona. He lived in Meriden since 1951 and retired in 1984 from Times Wire and Cable after 14 years. Besides his wife he leaves behind his son, Pedro O. Cardona and daughter and son-in-law, Wilma C. and Noel Ramos of Meriden, eight brothers, Miquel,Raul, Samuel and Luis Cardona all of Meriden, Saturnino Cardona of NY, Carlos Cardona and Johny Cardona of Puerto Rico and Ramon Cardona of ME, seven sisters, Lydia Torres of Meriden, Margarita Cardona, Luz Maria Cardona, Gloria Cardona, Carmen Cardona, Trinidad Cardona all of Puerto Rico and Ofelia Cardona of FL, seven grandchildren, Carlos Anthony Cardona, Pedro O. Cardona, Jr., Lucenia M. Torres, Christina V. Cardona, Judith E. Cardona, Victor N. Ramos and Jacob M. Ramos and two great-granddaughters, Jalyssa and Natalie Rios, also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Cardona was predeceased by a sister, Maria Louisa Cardona and two brothers, Manuel and Pedro Cardona. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, Tues. Feb. 17 at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose Church and 10 a.m. Friends may call Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 200 White Plains Rd., Tarrytown, NY 10591.
