Pericles 'Perry' G. Stamatien, 84, of West Haven, passed away at Yale-New Haven Hospital on Friday, February 3, 2017. Born in West Haven on October 24, 1932, he was the son of the late George and Mary Tomkow Stamatien. He was the beloved brother of Alexander Stamatien of West Haven, Aristotle Stamatien of NY, and Crene Ferraro of Orange. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews, and great-nieces & great-nephews. Pericles was predeceased by his brother James Stamatien; and sisters, Victoria Apuzzo, Anne Holtz, and Catherine Stamatien. After graduating from West Haven High School, he worked for the West Haven Electric Company for many years. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Presidential Honor Guard. Perry was an avid lover of all sports, but especially excelled at bowling, and enjoyed cheering on the Boston Red Sox and the NY Giants. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at BEECHER & BENNETT – TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave., West Haven at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 11, 2017 and may visit with Perry's family prior to the service, from 9:00-10:00 AM.
