Peter Michael Karlak
Peter Michael Karlak, 95, beloved husband of 64 years of Patricia Barbuto Karlak passed away April 18, 2013 in the St. Raphael Campus of Yale New Haven Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Seymour, CT Sept. 9, 1917, a son of the late Dimitri and Mary Michniak Karlak and had resided in Hamden since 1948. Peter was employed at the Farrel Corp. of Ansonia as a tool grinder for 45 years prior to his retirement. He was a long time member of the Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church and had served as Church President. He enjoyed playing in the golf league at Woodhaven CC and was proud of his 2 holes in one. He is survived by several nieces and nephews and was predeceased by his sisters, Helen Warholic, Eunice Klancko, and brothers, Otto, John, Michael and William Karlak. Christian Burial Service will be Monday, April 22 at 10 am in the Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church. Relatives and friends may visit at church Monday from 9 - 10 am. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Contributions in his memory may be sent to the Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church, 285 Alden Ave, New Haven, CT.
