Ralph A. Mongillo, 89, a 64 year resident of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the St. Raphael Campus of Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was born in Shelton on April 1, 1927 to the late Ralph and Adeline Nuzzo Mongillo. Ralph was the loving husband of the late Margaret Henault Mongillo. He graduated from Shelton High School and later went on to receive his associate degree from Quinnipiac University. Ralph was a proud and honorable veteran of the United States Navy. He was executive vice president of the Leonard Concrete Pipe Co. in Hamden for over 40 years, and completed his career at Platt & LaBonia in North Haven. Ralph served on the Hamden Board of Education for eight years and was also a past president of the New Haven Country Club. Ralph is survived by his daughters, Margaret Boice, Lauri Ingram, Teri Lipford and her husband Tom, and Lisa Andriole. He is also survived by his long-time companion Virginia Connelly and all of her extended family. He leaves behind nine grandchildren: Danny, James, Vicky, Andrew, Taylor, Morgan, Charlie, Rory, and Brody; four great-grandchildren: Nolan, Jordie, Daniel, and Kavi; along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Mary Biga and Dolores Regan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial for Ralph on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, Hamden. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Visitation with Ralph's family will take place from 9:00-10:00a.m. in the church prior to Mass.
