Regina (Jean) Granato Moore passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 31st, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Jean was born on September 15, 1926 in Cambridge, MA to Rafael and Marguerite (Soccodato) Granato of Gaeta, Italy.
Jean was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, John (Jack) E. Moore, and siblings, Civitina (Tina) DePrimeo, Armando (Mandy) Granato, Josephina (Josie) Conke, and Mary Granato. Jack and Jean settled in Hamden where they raised their four children. Jean was a stay-at-home mom until her children were teenagers. She then started her second career at the SCSU Bookstore where she worked for 45 years, retiring at the age of 85.
Jean leaves behind her four children; Bob (Nancy) Moore of Prospect, Janis (John) Panagrossi of Hamden, Margaret (Patrick) Shanley of Hamden and Larry (Joan) Moore of Brewster, MA, nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Jean was deeply loved by all she met. Kindness and humor were her guiding tenets. Her family meant everything to her, and she was blessed to have them all in her life. She loved sewing, quilting, baking, and sharing her hobbies with family and friends. The family would like to thank Liz Gonzales of Masonicare-at-Home, who provided compassionate care to our mom for the last two years, allowing her to remain in her home.
