Richard Aborn Lewis, 83, of Ashlar Village Wallingford, passed away Friday, January 7, 2005 at Mid State Medical Center in Meriden. He was the husband of Janice Cunliffe Lewis. He was born in Springfield, MA., son of the late Breck S. and Ruth Aborn Lewis. He attended the University of CT during the war years. Mr Lewis was employed as a engineer at Pratt-Whitney for 42 years prior to his retirement in 1984. He was a member of Compass Lodge in Wallingford, a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Shriners and active in the Drum Corp. He was a member and past president of the High Lane Club in Hamden and a member of the Northford Congregational Church. Mr Lewis was devoted to his family. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Deborah Lewis King of Somers, CT and 2 grandchildren David Lewis King and Emily Elisabeth King both of Somers. A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 13, 2005 at the Northford Congregational Church, at 11 AM with the Rev. David Colton officiating. Burial will be in Brimfield Cemetery, Brimfield, MA. There will be no calling hours. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Masonic Charity Foundation, PO. Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492 or to the Northford Congregational Church, Building Fund, Old Post Rd. Northford, CT. 06472 Arrangements in care of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave. Hamden.
