Meriden - Richard L. Perham husband of the late Ruth S. Schwink died on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at MidState Medical Center. He was born January 31, 1922 in New Haven a son of the late Archie and Cassie (Ayers) Perham. He attended the University of Connecticut's Agricultural program and was plant manager for Schwink's and Guida's Dairy until his retirement. He proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy, was very active with the Meriden Power Squadron, was a member of First Baptist Church and both he and his wife Ruth, were drivers for the American Red Cross. Richard is survived by a brother, William Perham of Chicago, IL, nieces, Deborah Meigs Gunn of Maine and Leslie Perham Strauss of Chicago, a nephew Bruce Perham of Seattle as well as many more nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Meigs and a nephew Jonathan Meigs. A graveside service with Military honors will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 12:00noon at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 460 Broad St., Meriden, Ct 06450. The Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden is in charge of the arrangements.
