Richard R. Crowther, 71, of Wallingford, died Friday, Sept. 24, 2004, at MidState Medical Center in Meriden. Born in New Haven, Oct. 5, 1932, he was the husband of Lois Aylwin Crowther and son of the late Joseph and Florence Rawson Crowther. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Linda Tassmer of Wallingford, 2 sons, James Crowther of Wallingford and John Crowther of Meriden, CT and 8 grandchildren: Thomas and Stacey Tassmer, James, Jennifer, Melinda, Courtney and Holden Crowther, Ashley Goral and the late Michelle Crowther. An Army Veteran of the Korean War, he was employed as a Product Repair Representative for U-Haul. A member of Yalesville United Methodist, he was also a member of Day Spring Lodge # 30, A.F. & A.M. Funeral service Tues., Sept. 28 at 11 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, CT. Friends may call Mon. from 4 - 8 p.m. Masonic service by Day Spring Lodge # 30 A.F. & A.M. Monday at 7:15 p.m. Burial in Beaverdale Memorial Park.

  1. Lois, Dick and I spent many hours together working on cars. August 1951 a trip to CA together with Jim Clement. I called Ed Klinkhammer in FL and advised him of Dicks passing. He along with Bunny and I send our deepest sympathy to you and your family.
