In Wallingford, February 15, 2003, Rita Simms White of The Masonic Healthcare Center. Wife of the late Alan M. White, mother of Elizabeth M. Martin of Hamden, Lillian R. Eckels of North Haven, Claude A. White of New Haven and William S. White of North Carolina, sister of Molly Carson of Ireland. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Born Dec. 13, 1914, in Carickfergas, Larne Antrim, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Elizabeth Thompson Simms. She was predeceased by; a son Alan W. White, two brothers, Sam and William Simms and two sisters, Elizabeth S. Beatty and Margaret S. Davis. An active resident of Bella Vista for 24 years before moving to Wallingford, she also had been active on the Women's Fellowship at the Whitneyville and North Haven Congregational Churches. Funeral service will be held in the North Haven Congregational Church on Thursday, February 20, at 10 A.M. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Charity Foundation, PO Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492. Arrangements with BEECHER AND BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN.
