Robert B. Johnson, age 91, of Guilford, passed away on July 22, 2013. Robert was predeceased by his wife Alice Buller Johnson in 2003. He is survived by is son, Robert A. Johnson, MD and his wife Nydia of Port Jervis, NY and his granddaughters, Kristen and Bethany Johnson. Born in New Haven on Feb. 6, 1922 he was a son the late John A. and Carolyn Benjamin Johnson. Robert was a US Army Veteran of WWII serving in the Tank Corps in Belgium and France. He retired from Camco Fittings in Hamden after over 30 years of employment. Friends may visit with his family at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden on Thursday from 12 noon to 1:00 PM and may attend his funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Centerville Cemetery, Hamden.

  3. I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Johnson in July, and was blessed to hear his stories from WWII as a tanker in the Army. His story was short since I only met with him for a short time, however it was touching and strong. To the family, my condolences, he was an honorable man.
