Robert Baxter Freitag

MERIDEN - Robert Baxter Freitag, 69, of 548 Allen Avenue died peacefully at his home after a long illness, on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005. Born in Meriden, April 14, 1935, he was the son of the late Charles and Georgina Ferguson Freitag, Sr. He was an avid collector of memorabilia of he 40's and 50's. He was employed through the Meriden-Wallingford Society for the Handicapped and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He is survived by three sisters, Laura Willhite and her husband, Arnold of Cheshire, Ruth Weston and Emily Anthony, both of Meriden; and 28 loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Janet Rogan, Hope Solyn and Georgina Gura; a brother, Charles Freitag, Jr.; and a nephew, Timothy Rogan. Funeral service Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. The Rev. Eric Henderson will officiate. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the services.
