Robert D. Moreau

Robert 'Bob' Moreau, 94, of Meriden, passed away on September 18, 2018 at Mid-State Medical Center with family by his side. He was the husband of the late CoraNell Dickenson Moreau. Born in Meriden on April 7, 1924 to the late John and Bertha Carpenter Moreau. Bob was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and growing vegetables. Besides time with his family, being outdoors was what brought him true happiness. A US Army Veteran, he served with Detachment A 977th Military Police. Bob was proud of the fact that he was the oldest and longest member of the Meriden Rod & Gun Club. Bob will be remembered by his daughter, Sally (Stephen) Dow of Meriden; two sons, Charles Moreau of Meriden and R. David (Rosa) Moreau of Port Orange, FL; eleven grandchildren, Daniel (Kathleen) Perreault, Jennifer (Kenneth) Desjardins, Brian Moreau, Lyn (Mark) Patrylak, James Moreau, Diana (John) Benezette, Sherrie Moreau, Rose (Steve) Malczynski, Kim (Mike) Grazier, and Theresa (David) King; eighteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a son, John Moreau and grandson, Greg Soto. Friends are invited to visit with Bob's family on Friday, September 21st from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT-FLATOW FUNERAL HOME followed by his Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. John Blossom will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will take place in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
