Robert E. Petry passed away on Sunday Nov. 30, 2008 at Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis, MA. He was born in Northford, CT, September 18, 1940 a son of the late Erwin C. and Irene Augur Petry. Rob married Janet James of North Haven, and they shared 46 years together. He was the father of Barbara Drummond-Bellacicco (Paul) of Northford, and Jim E. Petry of Waltham, MA. He was never happier than in the company of his grandchildren Elizabeth J. and K. Edward Drummond and step-granddaughter Sarah Bellacicco. He leaves a brother Henry T. Petry of Madison and was predeceased by a brother John Petry. Rob was a retired plumbing and heating contractor. He was a member of Northford Vol. Fire Dept. Co # 2, the CT Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors Assoc. and a former member of the Board of Directors for the National Assoc. of Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors. Rob was most relaxed when he, Janet, and his beloved cat, Princess, would head for their second home in Eastham, Cape Cod. Most contented when the grandchildren came along. The family would like to thank Dr. Jeff Reynolds, CAPD of New Haven, Liberty Dialysis Center, and especially Maureen MacPherson RN, for their care over the years of Rob's illness. Calling hours will be Saturday Dec. 6, from 10-12 noon at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN. Interment in Northford Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be sent to the National Kidney Foundation, 2139 Silas Dean Hwy., Suite 208, Rocky Hill, CT 06067. (800-441-1280).

  4. I didn’t know Robert as an adult but went to grade school with him for two or three years. I still remembered his name after all these years and am still in touch with other members of our class in CT. May God be with the family and may they keep their memories close to the heart.
