Meriden- Robert E. Westfort, 98 husband of the late Elizabeth (Kroeber) Westfort died on Sunday, March 31, 2013 at MidState Medical Center. He was born in Meriden to Edward and Emily Westfort on March 23, 1915. He graduated from Meriden High School in 1933 and was employed at International Silver Co. for 43 years, 40 years as a die cutter. Bob bowled on Insilco teams and the Meriden church league for many years. He was a member and trustee on the finance committee of South Meriden Trinity United Methodist Church for many years. After retiring in 1977 he played golf at Hunter's Golf Club. He leaves two sons and their wives, Robert and Trudy Westfort of Massachusetts and Ronald and Suzanne (McNulty) Westfort of Durham, six grandchildren; Michael Westfort, Jason Westfort, Veronica Pasieka, Betsy Misialek, Leanne Slawinowski and Lisa Angell and 13 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth in 2002, three sisters; Helen DeBisshop, Ruth Grenier and Evelyn Rice and a brother, Howard Westfort. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 9am at South Meriden Trinity United Methodist Church, 145 Main St., South Meriden. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Relatives and friends may call at the Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden on Friday, April 5, 2013 from 5-8pm.
